Happy New Year to all from the Ecclesiastical Sewing workroom. Yes, I am still here, and slowly recovering from a flurry of activity. After four weeks of disruption from home remodel and repairs, and two weeks of wedding flurry, things are returning to normal. Taking a Topsy-turvy aboutface, the vestment workroom was turned into wedding central with grooms men’s alterations, and sewing junior bridesmaid dresses. A vintage veil was restyled along with completed wedding gown alterations. And, not be be forgotten, a special altar frontal and pulpit fall was finished in the wee hours of New Year’s Eve, a few days before the big event. I won’t bore you with all of the other wedding projects that took place in the brand new space. Actually, it was rather amazing how many things were worked on in the new sewing space in the course of 10 days.
Maybe “New Space” is the thing! There is no clutter yet. There is room to more around and to work. Everything was so pleasant! The Ecclesiastical Sewing workroom is newly remodeled, and ever so lovely. While the space is still as small as ever, there is a new fabric storage system, and layout for the floor space. The cutting table has been rearranged to get more natural lighting from a window when taking photographs. The camera is still not out, and there is much to do with getting bookshelves. With the remodel complete, we are one step closer to being ready to get things in order for the launch of the new website and store front. There is still much to do, and it is a challenge for one person.
Thank you all for your patience as we work through the process of preparing for the new website. We hope to launch early in 2016.
