IHS and Grapes 8 1/2 inch Lace

Inspired by traditional European church embroidery, this lace features the IHS Christogram and grapevine motifs as symbols of the Christian worship. The design draws from antique altar linens found in historic sacristies.

Measuring 8½ inches wide, it includes a straight top edge for easy sewing and a scalloped bottom for a clean finish. Ideal for altar cloths, vestments, and other liturgical pieces, this trim brings both meaning and structure to sacred sewing.

Each repeat is thoughtfully designed to reflect purpose and clarity without being overly ornate.

Ideal For:

  • Altar cloths and fair linens for feast days and everyday reverence

  • Christening and First Communion dresses with traditional flourishes

  • Wedding veils, heirloom handkerchiefs, and vestment trims

  • Cottas, surplices, and rochets in need of a sacred finish

Details:

  • 8 1/2" Inches
  • Sold by the yard
  • Hand wash as a delicate item. Lay Flat to dry.

LACE FAQ:

Can the lace be machine washed?

Hand washing is recommended. Even in a delicate cycle, machine washing may result in too much agitation and spinning, resulting in damage to the delicate connection pieces of the lace.

Are samples available?

Samples are not usually available for the laces.

Dupioni silk

What I love about ecclesiastical sewing is the quality of their fabrics and the selection of liturgical fabrics that can be hard to find otherwise. I also Like the fact that if there is a question about anything I can email and communicate with a real person not a tangle of phone prompts and artificial voice systems. That’s so refreshing.
