Royal School of Needlework Exhibit

The approach of spring and summer in a few months brings thoughts of travel plans. And what could be better than making plans for attending upcoming needlework courses.  While my travel plans are not yet set, there is a lovely exhibit featuring church vestments running in the United Kingdom.

The Royal School of Needlework has an exhibit titled:  ‘For Worship & Glory’ taking place at Chester Cathedral, 3 – 28 February 2016. The highlight of the exhibit is six pieces of the famous Litany of Lorento embroideries, which were donated to the Royal School by the nuns from the now closed Convent of the Holy Child in Mayfield East Sussex.  There is a lecture planned for this Friday evening, February 12. Sadly, it is too late for me to dream of attending, but for readers in the UK,  the timing might work, even with short notice. For more information on available lectures and  other events connected with the exhibit “For Worship and Glory,” please visit the Chester Cathedral website.
