SPALATIN Giclée Print: Iconic Reformation Figure

George Spalatin, born Georg Burkhardt in 1484, was a trusted friend and advisor to Martin Luther during the Protestant Reformation. As a humanist, theologian, and secretary to Frederick the Wise, Elector of Saxony, Spalatin played a crucial role in supporting and promoting the Reformation movement. He acted as a liaison between Luther and the political authorities, facilitating Luther's protection and the spread
of his ideas. Spalatin's correspondence with Luther and his efforts in organizing Luther's writings were instrumental in advancing the cause of the Reformation. His close relationship with Frederick the Wise also helped to secure Luther's safety and influence the political landscape of the time.

This Giclée print of Spalatin has been created by Edward Riojas.
