Opalescent Linen Fabric

A fine linen lawn fabric made in a lighter sheer fabrication. Suitable for sheer chalice veils, fine handwork or shadow-work embroidery, and fine baptismal towels. When a softer, more draped look is needed, this is the fabric of choice. Also, consider this for a bishop rochet.

When a fine and delicate linen is needed for making heirloom Baptismal gowns or christening gowns, this would be the linen of choice for heirloom seamstresses.

This linen has a smooth, fine texture and finish, and a soft, draping hand. The finish has a slight sheen to the surface. Opalescent Linen is a soft white color.

Please note that linen fabric has a high percentage of shrinkage. Please allow extra yardage for shrinkage when purchasing. Fabric is not returnable for shrinkage or failure to allow extra yardage to accommodate shrinkage factors.

Weight: 3.9 oz.
Color: White
Width: 60" (152.4 cm)
Fiber content: 100% linen                                                                                               Thread Count:  125/sq.in

(The ribbon is used in the photos as an aid to focus on white fabric to allow the texture to be visible).

To order a swatch: Please click the drop-down arrow to the right of the "SIZE" button and select Swatch Sample Size. Also, select the color option. Add the swatch to the cart and check out.

Dupioni silk

What I love about ecclesiastical sewing is the quality of their fabrics and the selection of liturgical fabrics that can be hard to find otherwise. I also Like the fact that if there is a question about anything I can email and communicate with a real person not a tangle of phone prompts and artificial voice systems. That’s so refreshing.
