Red Pentecost Superfrontal – “Come Holy Spirit” with Crosses
Design Style 3503
A red Pentecost superfrontal featuring the invocation “Come Holy Spirit” centered on the altar, flanked by gold crosses and finished with a gold fringe hem. Designed to give visual voice to the Church’s ancient prayer for the Spirit’s presence and power.
Designed for Pentecost and major festivals of the Holy Spirit, this superfrontal places the Church’s prayer at the very heart of the altar.
Centered prominently is the invocation “Come Holy Spirit”, a prayer drawn from centuries of Christian worship and echoed in hymns, liturgies, and the life of the Church. The text is not decorative, but declarative, expressing dependence, expectation, and readiness to receive the Spirit whom Christ promised.
On either end, gold crosses frame the text, affirming that the Spirit is invoked not apart from Christ, but through His saving work. The prayer rises from the altar, where Word and Sacrament meet, and returns as grace poured out upon the Church.
A gold fringe hem completes the superfrontal, following long-standing altar textile tradition and marking the piece as festal and set apart for sacred use.
Crafted in rich red brocade fabric, this superfrontal is made to order by Ecclesiastical Sewing, using balanced proportions, historically grounded symbolism, and materials chosen for reverent, long-term liturgical use.
Part of The Spirit of Glory Collection, giving voice to the Church’s prayer for the Holy Spirit to come, dwell, and renew the people of God.
