Lizardine - Gilt Goldwork Metallic Embroidery Threads for Goldwork & Hand Embroidery

Lizardine, or Lizerine as it is sometimes called, is a wire metallic embroidery thread that looks similar to Pearl Purl. This embroidery thread has the look of little gold pearls and different effects can be created with Lizardine (also called 'Lizerine') by stretching it. Lizarine is a Gilt Goldwork thread, meaning it is made with a small amount of real gold that gives it a luster and shine.

Features of Lizardine:

  • Can be used to outline designs
  • Can be used as a filling
  • Has a squared appearance instead of being rounded.
  • Combines well with other embroidery threads to create interesting design options

Sizes:

  • Lizardine Size Super MET-2050- approx. 0.75 mm in width
  • Lizardine Size #1 MET-2051- approx. 0.90 mm in width
  • Sold in 1 yard lengths

Dupioni silk

What I love about ecclesiastical sewing is the quality of their fabrics and the selection of liturgical fabrics that can be hard to find otherwise. I also Like the fact that if there is a question about anything I can email and communicate with a real person not a tangle of phone prompts and artificial voice systems. That’s so refreshing.
