Linen for Corporals & Purificators
Purificators and corporals are the working linens of the Mass, laundered constantly and replaced often. You can buy them from us two ways: hemmed and ready to embroider, or as linen by the yard to sew your own.
Ready-hemmed church linens
- Irish Linen Purificators – machine hemmed in 12 x 12, 13 x 13 and 12 x 17.5 inch sizes, ready for your cross embroidery.
- Prehemmed Linen Corporals – 18, 20 and 22 inch squares with finished hems.
- Pall Inserts – 7 inch plexiglass inserts for sewing your own chalice palls.
Or sew your own
Renaissance Linen, pure Irish linen cut by the yard, is the traditional cloth for corporals and purificators. One yard yields a good stack of purificators. Pair it with our Small Altar Linen Sewing Pattern for cutting sizes and hem technique.
Embroider them yourself
Browse our church linen collection for the fabric, and add a cross, IHC or IHS monogram, or grapes and wheat in your own hand or machine embroidery.
Swatch first
Order a linen swatch for a few dollars and check the weave before buying yardage.
