A large altar deserves a cloth cut from a single width, with no center seam running down the mensa. These wide white fabrics were chosen for exactly that job.

Wide widths for big altars

  • Porcelain Linen™ – 90 inches wide. A white linen and polyester blend that presses well and stands up to frequent laundering. This is a blend, and we say so plainly.
  • Resplendent 108 Inch Linen Blend – our widest cloth at 108 inches, a linen blend that covers the largest altars in one seamless width.

Prefer pure linen?

Pure linen or blend is stated on every listing. Blends trade some tradition for width and easy care; pure linen is the classic. Your altar, your call, and we will help you make it.

Swatch before yardage

Order swatches of two or three candidates for a few dollars each and compare whites side by side on your altar.

How much width do you need?

Measure the mensa width plus the drop at front and back (for a full frontal-style cloth) or the mensa plus hems for a fair linen. Send us your measurements and we will confirm which width fits before you order.

Why here

Family-owned studio serving altar guilds and 22,737 makers, over 1,000 five-star reviews, cut to order and shipped from Minnesota.

FAQ

Is a linen blend acceptable for altar cloths? Many parishes use blends for undercloths and everyday cloths and reserve pure linen for the fair linen. Traditions vary; we stock both and label both honestly.

Widest fabric you carry? 108 inches, the Resplendent linen blend.
