Flatworm Gilt Goldwork Embroidery Thread
Flatworm is made with a flattened metal strip that has been wound around a fiber core. Once the metal strip has been wound around the core, it is lightly flattened. The finished appearance is similar to broad plate.
A nice advantage to Flatworm is that it is very flexible and easier to handle.

- Sold in 10 yard lengths
- Gilt threads have ½ % of gold in the plating covering copper.
We recommend using Au Ver a Soie 100/3 for couching. Colors 240 or 241 are a nice match. You may also wish to try a contrasting thread color for couching.
Flatworm thread is couched down singularly or two strands at a time as a filling or outline.
