Lent and Advent Pastor or Priest Stoles and Rose Stole for Laetare Sunday

Lent is just around the corner, and we have a few new things to share for those who might be in need of “freshening” things up beforehand. Things have been busy in the Ecclesiastical Sewing workroom. We have been working on stole designs and embroidery designs, as well as fine tuning our finishing standards. And so, it is time for you to be the judge and give us some feedback.

Our Collection of Pastor or Priest Stoles is still in its infancy. The designs are being offered to meet specific seasonal events at the moment, and more offerings will be available as time goes along.  This above stole is available in a variety of versions. This Pastor stole features two orphrey bands on either side trimmed with galloon braid.  The stole has a cross detail at the Center Back neckline. All stoles are made with a nice weight interfacing to ensure the stoles hang correctly so they do not fly about.

For those wanting a slightly simpler stole style, the upper orphrey bands have been removed, and tassels have been added at the lower edge.

Rose Stole for Laetare and Gaudete Sundays

Rose stoles are a nice touch to use during the seasons of Advent and Lent. The Rose color is used on Gaudete and Laetare Sundays. Rose Vestments help mark a noted change in the readings during the Penitential Seasons. WE have been using a Rose set at my church for a number of years now. When Advent and Lent begin, everyone knows at some point the Rose set will be coming out, and the comment of the day is, “Oh – it’s that special Sunday today!” The change in color helps mark the day, and people pay a bit more attention to the assigned readings, listening for that change in tone so often noted for Gaudete and Laetare Sundays.

While I have many favorites when we create a new line of Vestments, this stole has to be near or even at the top of my list of favorite stoles. The colors are a rich violet. The fabrics used in the St. Ambrose Stole include the solid and two tone version of the same pattern. Yet one might never guess that unless they are familiar with the over all full size pattern of the fabric.

We have a few more stoles available on our website, and are trying to complete production and get photos up as quickly a possible. All of our pastor or priest stoles are handmade either in our Ecclesiastical Sewing Workroom or by custom seamstresses here in Minnesota or Ohio. The stoles are made one at a time, and are not mass produced. The stoles have a great deal of hand work to ensure that they lay properly. Our goal is to offer Bespoke Quality Church Vestments at an affordable price.

For those who may prefer, the fabrics and stole patterns are available to make your own stole.

So, now it is your turn. We would love to get some feedback on our stole styles. What do you think? Please let us know what you might like to see in the way of pastor or priest stoles in the comments below.

As always, thanks for stopping by.
